Mininova faces legal action
Mininova, the successor of a closed BitTorrent site and one of the most popular is now facing legal action himself. The Dutch anti-piracy organisation BREIN is trying to bring the service down - even though Mininova is not a BitTorrent tracker and just indexes torrent files from trackers elsewhere.
Regarding to BREIN, Mininova should be forced to filter its search results and remove all content that may be unauthorised. On the other side stands Mininova co-founder Erik Dubbelboer, who believes, that Mininova operates within the law, especially because it is maintaining a "notice and taken down" policy like other sites such as MySpace, Veoh and YouTube. A policy, BREIN thinks, that is totally insufficient.
